500 meters with a Nano is hard to say. There are many unpredictable variables. It might and might not. Try it and see.
Well engineered projects are indistinguishable from crazy ideas.
Speed, distance, reliability, cost...Pick three.

Guys just a curiosity, can I use nanostation M2 to access wifi on 500m away ? (Not using point to point but only using 1 nanostation M2 pointing to wifi over 500m away from my position assuming I've clear LOS)
Done it up-to 800 metres with a stable connection before.
It really depends on factors mainly around LOS between Nano and WiFi signal.
Some times you pick up the signal fine but cannot connect due to the weak wifi signal being transmitted.
Try and you will be surprised how many signals you see though. Place the Nano outside up high for better results
