Unifi AP shows Managed by other

I have an AP which in my controller says managed by other user. I don't remember the old controller information. I tried doing a hard-reset on the AP (I know which one it is by trial-error) I took the power out, held down the reset button for 15-30 seconds, plugged in power without removing the reset button, and waited another 15-20 seconds. However it still says it's managed by another user. I know for a fact that I have the correct AP, I only have 3, and I disconnected the other two (and they show up as disconnected in my controller).

Any idea how I can resolve this?

Hit forget about this access point from your controller

That doesn't do anything helpful. I need the AP to be controlled by the new controller. I can't seem to reset the AP.

If you still remembers the username/password you used in your old controller, click on the AP link to bring up the AP dialog box and use the Advanced Adoption.
If you don't, resetting the AP to default by holding the reset button after the AP is powered up.

Re: Unifi AP shows Managed by other

That is exactly how to reset properly. Take a pen (will likely need to take the pen out of its casing) and press and hold in the reset button on the AP for about 10 seconds. The light on the AP will flash and then turn off when reset. After you release the button, the light will come back on after a few seconds. This should let you know it has fully reset.

I was instructed by email support to open an RMA. They sent me a new device after going through some troubleshooting.
