AirLink

Hi,

When I measured the garment distances Airlink is the result of a link to this
photo
Real, if the tower equipment in place, the picture link2, the Tower is visible in both eyes.

Is there is something wrong somewhere, or is it a reality.

air link does not take into consideration things such as, trees. buildings, houses, signs, telegraph poles, power poles etc

 

airlink calculates its clearances from know ground topology

 

so if you can see your antennas, but within your fresnal zone there are the tops of trees, a building, a sign

anything, you are straight away going to get losses

 

try a smaller frequency channels, say 20mhz

you should jump up to over 200mbs, but you may also need to elevate your antennas heigher in order to clear your fresnal zone

also what equipment is this ?

2 x nanostations

2 x rockets ?

 

the equipment can also be a factor

 

for instance 2 nanostations have a wider fresnal to 2 rockets with a dish 

 and if there are obstructions in the fresnal

5ghz will not travel as well as a 2.4ghz system

 

also it apperars your not using wpa2 -aes security

this will improve your throughput

 

maybe with more information, the community could assist you better

I don't see the fresnel characteristics change with antenna type.  Should'nt the fresnel zone be smaller with 35dBi antennas versus an M5?

It will change with frequency, not antenna type.

 

All 5ghz has the same fresnel zone.

I am having a hard time believing the Airlink calculations because they are failing and I am shooting across a valley.  I did a similiar LigoWave link calculation and the results were great.
