External access of an AirCam

Is it possible to have access to an AirCam from the public side of the internet when the AirCam is on the private side behind a Nano Station? If so can someone direct me on how to configure?

Re: External access of an AirCam

Yes if you set up either a port forward or a 1:1 NAT on the main internet router
pointing to the nano's IP and then do a port forward off the nano to the cam

Re: External access of an AirCam

Hi Kent you still having a problem with that
without knowing your ip address scheme not really but
I can give you a basic example
Internet routers real IP 67.235.99.xxx
on this router enter a port forward of say 9080 to 9080 redirected to the nanos static IP ie 192.168.1.100
on the nano enter a port forward for 9080 to port 80 redirected to the aircams static IP ie 192.168.2.200 after that typing in the routers real world IP with the port number into a browser ie 67.235.99.xxx:9080 should redirect you right to the camera

Hi just a side question to that,
If you have a daisy chain of 4 nano M5 setup , must you port forward on each nano station until you reach the end of the chain where the Aircam is located or can you just do this on one if the NM5 to end point where the camera is located ?
Thank you!

Re: External access of an AirCam

Only on the nano's that have the router turned on. If they are ap/wds -- sta/wds with multicast enabled no forwarding is needed as they are in a layer 2 bridge.

I don't know all of the details, but I can tell you what I had to do. I have a nano bridge that the wisp uses for their client radios, they use them in the router mode. So I had to go into their dish on the tree and set up port forward for me to be able to get to the airvision. Luckily I work for them and knew the passwords and such.

I had to forword the public port I was going to use to my routers ip address assigned by the nano bridge, then forward in my router to the airvision ports.

So this assumes you have a router in the mix. you probably already know this but you can find the ip address of the router or whatever the nano station is pushing to on the main tab click on dhcp tab.
