Airwire not in sight !

Good day every one,

I am about to subscribe to an IPTV service, the problem is....my ONT device is in a room that is separated from my TV set by 2 small concrete walls!

is it possible to use Airwire to connect the IPTV device with the ONT though they are no in sight !?

Thx

Re: Airwire not in sight !

Concrete is a severe attenuator. We have seen an example (documented on this forum) of where even 900 MHz can't get through a single concrete wall. I do not recommend this solution.
Cheers,

Re: Airwire not in sight !

All my access points "Wireless N 2.4Ghz" have no problem reaching that destination.

Re: Airwire not in sight !

I never read the other thread, but I would expect that it isn't so much the concrete as the grids of rebar that are likely grounded would be the culprit. So it might work great or not at all.

I have found two radios associating under the most unlikely of conditions (defy conventional calculations and logic) but the minute you rely on a similar situation to work without fail, that is when you can expect a visit from Mr. Murphy. If you don't mind risking the cost of two radios, give it a shot.

Coring concrete, twice, is a PITA but definitely safer.

I second this statement. I love my cordless hammer drill!
