Hi,

can you please add SFP+ support to your ever growing list of wanted features? This to support 10Gbps.

Thanks,

RS

Currently I'm not aware of many other 10 GbE players on the market at the same price and quality as UBNT that use SFP+ and not RJ45. In my opinion, there's a need for the upgrade. Currently the only solution at an affordable price range for a small company / home user (?) is Mikrotik ( http://routerboard.com/CCR1072-1G-8Splus ) which provides eight (!) 10 GbE SFP+ ports at a little bit over 2,000 EUR. The only product that's currently using these ports is the 48-port EdgeSwitch. It would be good to see the 24-port model have 2x10 GbE instead of 1xGbE SFP(+) ports, the 48-port model have 4x10 GbE and the Edge Router have at least 2x10GbE ports. Alternatively, a 10GbE only switch / router could also work and if at the right price bring UBNT into some more data centers. Of course talking about this is easy, but the company engineers need to do a lot of work to make these products at affordable prices.. But we'll see.

I would expand upon that to even have 16x - 24x 10G ports, if not some 40G and 100G as well.

+1

We surely are looking for 10G SFP ports on the EdgeRouter Pro and wouldn't mind paying more for those ports than the current price for 1G port.

@UBNT-cmb That is very nice news! Looking forward to it !

Can you tell us about configuration ? How many SFP+ ports, how many 1 Gbps RJ45 ports, how many SFP ports ?
How much memory ?

I'm sure an EdgeRouter with 4 SFP+ ports would fly off the shelves.

I've been looking for a solution that would allow me to handle 10GB through my network.

I have the EP-16XG with Fiber modules and the EP-S16, only my edgerouter pro can't handle the 10GB.

I have been wondering if the Edgerouter Pro can do router only and the WAN port would be on the EP-16XG instead of the ERpro?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
