EdgeRouter X SPF: Compatible SPF module

Hello from Germany,

our local energy supplier now provides FTTH BIDI internet access.

I would like to use an ER X SPF with a BIDI Gbic. Can anyone tell me witch modules work with the ER X SFP.

Here are the technical requirements I got:

  SFP-Type 1000BASE-BX10 U
Tx 1310 nm, Rx 1490 nm
  Single Mode Fiber
  Connector: LC/APC

I thougt of this one:

https://www.flexoptix.net/de/transceiver/1-gigabit-bidi-sfp-transceiver-10km-tx-1310nm-rx-1490nm.htm...

Thx,

Klaus

Hi

If you use ER SFP BiDi, it should be 40km link distance like this one 1.25Gbps Tx:1310nm/Rx:1490nm 40km BiDi SFP Transceiver Module

It's rather unusual for a fiber provider not to provide the ONT to connect to their fiber. If this is a GPON network, for example, you need to use a compatible GPON ONT. Have you checked that your ISP does not provide an ONT?

Ubiquiti makes SFP modules:

Otherwise I believe many people have had success with Ubiquiti-compatible modules purchased from fs.com.

All the modules listed on previous posts do not correspond to the requirements.

The requirements are not GPON.

The requirements list SC/APC connectors.  The link in your post and all other posts on this thread are for LC connectors which won't fit the fiber your providers is providing.

For bi-directional SFP's there is a transmit frequency and receive.  Your SFP must be opposite the one on the ISP end.  It must receive on the correct frequency (1490)  and transmit on the correct frequency (1310).  And it must be SC/APC.

These are available from FiberStore in China.

Re: EdgeRouter X SPF: Compatible SPF module

Hi,

it's not GPON, it's P-t-P.

The ISP told me that they are going to install in LC/APC connector.

So all I need is a SPF module: https://www.flexoptix.net/en/transceiver/1-gigabit-bidi-sfp-transceiver-10km-tx-1310nm-rx-1490nm.htm...

and the right cable to adapt vom APC to PC: http://shop.fiber24.net/index.php/de/LWL-Patchkabel-Singlemode-Simplex-LC-PC-LC-APC/c-SM-SIMPLEX-CON...

Can anybody confirm that Flexoptic SPF modules work with the ER X SFP?

I know this one is compatible.  Find out whether with will have an LC/APC connector or adapter.  If they include the male connector, you do not need a cable.  If they include a female adapter, you will need a cable.
