6rd tunnel broken on 1.8? Here's the fix!

After upgrading to 1.8, I found that my 6rd tunnel for Centurylink IPv6 no longer worked. After some hair-pulling, I tracked down this post (EdgeMAX-Beta/Patch-Workaround-for-broken-IPv6-6rd-support). The short version is that in the past you used:

set protocols static route6 ::/0 next-hop ::205.171.2.64 interface tun0

...which no longer works to set tun0 as the default IPv6 route, so now you need to remove that and add this to your tun0 interface instead:

set interfaces tunnel tun0 6rd-default-gw ::205.171.2.64

Its a cleaner config, works for me. Things might get interesting if you need to set a non-default route to your 6rd tunnel, no idea how that'll; work.

Yeah good point, I've modified the release notes to include an example. Thanks for reporting this!

Thank you for this. Decided to reset my router to defaults after upgrading to 1.8 and could not figure out why the guide I made to get Charter 6rd working, didn't work anymore. Now it works from that one line change.
