Any plans to add NFS client support?

I have ERX. It is pretty good, but having NFS client support in the kernel would be awsome.

Re: Any plans to add NFS client support?

there's nothing stopping you from adding nfs-common (well, assuming there's a mips package for it) ... the ER is running Debian afterall.

As for it being part of the base image -- probably not (but then, I'm not UBNT, maybe they'll agree with you if you post over in the feature request area).

Re: Any plans to add NFS client support?

nfs-common has tools to make use of NFS feature implemented in kernel. Looks like my ERX's kernel is not compied with this feature. Kernel compiling is an arduous task for embedded systems! :-(

root@ubnt:/home/malahal# cat /proc/kallsyms | grep -i nfs | grep -v unionfs
8013dc70 t ext3_nfs_get_inode
8014ee14 t ext2_nfs_get_inode
root@ubnt:/home/malahal# find /lib/modules/ | grep nfs

Re: Any plans to add NFS client support?

One:
Why? What is the use case
Two:
Things are disabled in kernel to reduce attack surface. Every feature that gets turned on adds more attack surface, which makes the first question stronger.
