ER-8 eth0 disappears after upgrading from v1.8.0 to v1.8.5

I just upgraded a new ER-8 to v1.8.5 from v1.8.0. eth0 disappeared from the config. It was not listed in the Config Tree or the Dashboard. eth1 thru eth7 are the only ones shown. Eth0 is the primary ISP interface in my config. Reverting back to v1.8.0 brought it back.

Re: ER-8 eth0 disappears after upgrading from v1.8.0 to v1.8.5

Had this as well with a few interfaces missing from the GUI and CLI, adding them via CLI gave some type of RALINK error. Factory reset and applied backup config and all working again. Had to revert to 1.8.0 as some of the CLI traffic policies I was using threw up a bunch of errors on 1.8.5.

Re: ER-8 eth0 disappears after upgrading from v1.8.0 to v1.8.5

I have issues as well just upgrading yesterday.  I have my mgmt on Eth0 but also a ton of VLANS Eth0.10, Eth0.20, etc. seems all work except Mgmt VLAN 1.

Can I just downgrade firmware by uploading the 1.8.0 image???

Everything worked fine there.

Thanks,

Yes, if you're sure you saved the backup config yourself (including all customized files if any), just uploading the image brings you back to 1.8.0 using the upgrade methode which keeps your current (broken setup) as the new backup. If your config is broken you need to restore your backup config. As last resort you can start form factory-defaults like in the second post.

More safe, is to revert to the backup that has been made by former upgrade. The system reverts then back to the exact situation that exists before the upgrade, including config.
