EdgeRouter ER-3 Lite - Wildcard DNS Entries?

Hi all,

I'm using the DNS host names wizard to enter DNS entries for servers on the LAN. I need wild card entries for our web server as it will have numerous sites hosted on it as subdomains (ie website1.iis.local). We want all of these subdomains to resolve to the iis.local IP address.

Is there a way to do this using the wizard or the config tree gui?

Daniel.

If you're using dnsmasq, this might do the trick:

set service dns forwarding options address=/.iis.local/192.168.1.14

Re: EdgeRouter ER-3 Lite - Wildcard DNS Entries?

Thanks, this has done the trick. For those who would rather use the GUI, it can be entered directly in the config tree:

Web GUI > Config Tree > service > dns > forwarding > options

Click '+ Add'

Enter "address=/.subdomain.yourdomain/192.168.1.10" without quotes (obviously insert your own domain name and IP address)

Would be nice to be able to enter a wildcard via the GUI 'DNS hostnames wizard', perhaps in a future update?
