Edgerouter X won't let me access certain sites over wifi

[ Edited ]

First off, I'm sorry if I've missed a solution to this problem in previous posts, I feel like I'm going round in circles at this point and I'm getting a little confused as this is all rather new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is starting to drive me nuts.

Right so I've recently replaced my old BT homehub with a Edgerouter X. Initial setup seemed to go smoothly, everything I connect to a lan port works fine. I added an AP so wireless devices could connect and still everything seemed fine until the Mrs tried to open her amazon app. Turns out several sites are inaccessible over wifi; amazon.co.uk, asda, netmums etc. Amazon.com seems to be fine. I believe the ERX is the device causing the issues rather than the AP because I tried another AP and got the same result.

As I said, all seems fine other than a seemingly random number of websites not being available when connecting over wifi.

Thanks

There's nothing wrong with your router. If you can access the web over wired but not wireless connections, you have something wrong with your AP or how it's connected to the router.

Re: Edgerouter X won't let me access certain sites over wifi

Start with basics: DNS, ARP entry of the gateway, then the actual connectivity to the gateway . and website. Wireshark/tcpdump is your friend

Don`t blame the device as it`s always doing what you have asked it to do, this is not always the same as what you want.

also upgrade your router. that's a problematic firmware version.
