Fails to create pid file if pppoe user contains slash "/"

[ Edited ]

Hi there…

Starting with firmware 1.9.7 I recognized the following log entry:

Failed to create pid file /run/pppoe-client-sessions/ip/[rest of username]: No such file or directory

The important fact is: the "ip/" is part of the username and needed to establish a connection. But the router is not masking these caracters and using the username as filename which is failing in this case.

Is this new or already known?

My quick and dirty solution was to

sudo mkdir ip

in folder /run/pppoe-client-sessions

the pid file is created now, but I don't think this is the way how it should be done…

OK, this is a serious one…

I reverted back to 1.9.1.1

This bug causes the load balancer to not recognize the problematic PPPoE-session and prevents it from using both connections.

This bug is similar to this HERE ... you can try an fix that file manually until next release. ...if you don't have already you need beta access (via your account settings).

No, that's something different. The problem here is not masking special characters like "/" when creating the pid file.

I was able to reproduce this and created bug ticket. Thank you for reporting this issue.
