Help for new user

[ Edited ]

**Fixed now. After trying for 1.5 hours to delete the firewall rule from the "Config Tree" in the GUI it all of sudden worked.

**Didn't do anything different than the previous attempts.

I have just setup my first edgerouter (edgerouter x) and have an issue I can't resolve.

I setup a new firewall rule in the GUI and later I wanted to delete it.

It has been deleted from the GUI and does is not in the output of the "show" command when I ssh into the router.

But, it still shows up in the "Config Tree" in the GUI. No matter what I do to try and delete it, the firewall rule stays.

When I ssh into the router and "configure" and then:

delete firewall "firewall name" the message is that:

The specified configuration node is not valid
Delete failed

Is it normal behaviour that it isn't in the actual configuration but still shows in the "Config Tree"

Thanks for any advice

Re: Help for new user

It wants the firewall name. The label you gave it..

The correct syntax is

delete firewall name WAN_LOCAL2

Re: Help for new user

Thanks for the reply. I was using the "delete firewall name WAN_LOCAL2".

I put in in wrong when I took the screenshot to paste here. I checked my .history to confirm.

It's all good now and I eventually deleted it from the GUI "Config Tree".

Not sure what the problem was before. From a ssh terminal it was not showing in configure, show or cat /config/config.boot.

Like it was not actally in the configuration but showing in the Config Tree.

Perhaps it was still in /opt/vyatta/config/active/firewall/name/ but not sure now it is removed.

Thanks again.
