How to connect ER-X serial console

Similar to other ER models, ER-X also has serial console but the pins (connector) is under the casing. To connect unscrew the two back screws and carefully remove the top part of the case.

To connect you need USB to serial adapter with 3.3V logic, pretty much any nowadays adapter will do. I prefer FTDI based adapters, they go for about $2-$10 on Amazon HERE or HERE or eBay HERE.

 

On windows use PuTTY on Linux minicom or serial on OSX.

After connecting and plugging in power to ER-X you should see output similar to below
