Huge problem with my domain after firmware upgrade

Hi all!

After I rebooted my edgerouter after a firmware upgrade from hotfix 3 to 4 my whole domain network has totally crashed down.

Before showing my setup I would like to mention that this server is shutdown at some moment and therefore wifi devices would not be able to get an IP from the server. I would like to keep the setup that way Man Happy.

My setup (which worked PERFECTLY 2 days ago!):

Windows Server 2016 Domain Controller without DHCP/DNS with AD.

Edgerouter acting as DHCP/DNS.

2 Workstation joined the domain.

Problems: Workstation cannot connect anymore with the DC. Not even pingable.

If you have any clues what it can be, please let me know. I would be glad to post my config.

How are you trying to ping the DC? Hostname? In an AD environment, it’s best practice, if not mandatory, that you run DNS server on the DC.

Trying to ping by either hostname or ip. Both do not respond.

And I know it is best practice, but it's weird that it worked for months without problems.

Re: Huge problem with my domain after firmware upgrade

Solved! It seems the problem for the second workstation was already resolved. I was only strugling with mine. My ip was probably just either blocked or so. Changing my lease fixed the problem.
