Printing not working over VPN

I recently installed 2 EdgeMax Pro routers at a client site and setup a VPN tunnel.  The tunnel is up and running and I'm able to browse folders/files.  I'm able to run my software over the VPN, but when I try to print from  software I am unable to print.  People on the side with direct access to the software are able to print, but not the remote VPN site.

Both routers are using v1.10.0 firmware.  Basic setup as neither have anything else configured.  Let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks in advance for any input given.

Re: Printing not working over VPN

How are you trying to print? Direct IP? AirPrint? What is the specific problem?

Re: Printing not working over VPN

Printer is installed on a terminal server (Ricoh C3000), it is installed as an IP printer with a static IP address.  Software is Mas 90 installed on remote Lan.  I'm able to ping the printer from the remote LAN.  But when I try to print nothing ever shows up in the print queue on the printer.

Re: Printing not working over VPN

Could be an MTU issue, you can try, on both routers, something like

Spoiler
configure
set firewall options mss-clamp mss 1400
set firewall options mss-clamp interface-type all
commit

Anyway, tcpdump is always your friend, eg assuming the client (192.168.10.10) is on eth1 on router A, and the printserver (192.168.12.10, port 4444) on eth2 on router B, on router A

sudo tcpdump -n -vv -i eth1 host 192.168.10.10 and host 192.168.12.10 and port 4444

On router B

sudo tcpdump -n -vv -i eth2 host 192.168.10.10 and host 192.168.12.10 and port 4444

Launch a print, and see the outputs ...

Cheers,

jonatha
