SSH acces denied

When I SSH to my ERL it gives me "acces denied".

The only user on the device is admin and ssh server is active and port set to 22.

It's the same problem as described in https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeMAX/ssh-login-not-working/td-p/1830164 but that one never got solved.

Re: SSH acces denied

Does CLI button in GUI still work?

If so , look at log files like /var/log/messages after failed ssh connection attempt

Yes, the CLI button in the ERL via the browser works.

But not when I connect from the internal network to the ERL via SSH.

Re: SSH acces denied

Then use that cli to troubleshoot.

try ssh connect, then show log in CLI (in GUI)

sudo tail -n 20 /var/log/messages

Re: SSH acces denied

When you ssh, what client are you using (PuTTY from windows, linux "native", macos, something else?)

You should be able to add a '-v' option to your SSH to see diagnostic messages that may help:

user@host$ ssh -v user2@edgerouter

Similar may be done on the server side but start with the client-side to see if anything jumps out.

Re: SSH acces denied

Hi,

I used the terminal on OSX.

Last night the router crashed and lots of functions did not work properly too.

After reinstalled the router ssh works via the terminal on my OSX. Man Happy
