Hi there, because of my ISP problems - I need to refresh my PPPoE handshake for some cases to get same stability again. On those times, I'm using failover balancing, so that I no need to loose my connection.
But here is the problem, beside of I active hardware offload for PPPoE, it does take 5-6 seconds to disconnect PPPoE - connect PPPoE & running up the service takes 2-3 seconds - and then I still need to wait for 10 seconds to get my connection back. It is like restarting a dumb modem and want to optimize this in my config? Do you recommend anything to do?
It will take some time before the existing PPPoE session is torn down, the new session is authenticated and the default route is installed in the routing table.
If you are using load-balancing, we can decrease up the initial-delay and interval values so that the interface is activated earlier. For example:
set load-balance group G interface pppoe0 route-test interval <seconds> set load-balance group G interface pppoe0 route-test initial-delay <seconds> set load-balance group G interface pppoe0 route-test count failure <nr> set load-balance group G interface pppoe0 route-test count success <nr>
