What about Cisco´s LISP?

LISP sounds interesting: http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac123/ac147/archived_issues/ipj_11-1/111_lisp.html

Implementation for Debian/Linux: https://github.com/LISPmob/lispmob

- Has anyone tried it on running the Edgemax already?

Re: What about Cisco´s LISP?

Have not tried this here, though the instructions list the packages that need to be installed to build from source code, so it may not be too difficult to try on the router.

Re: What about Cisco´s LISP?

I would love to see LISP support on the edgemax, I think there is overlay project at the following site:

This is _not_ my wheelhouse, but my compiler still works.  Man Wink

Grab the mips oor binary (compiled from latest git) and example configuration file from my Dropbox

After making sure your router is set up to properly download Debian wheezy-mips packages, copy the oor binary to /tmp on your router, then execute the following:

sudo bash
apt-get install libconfuse0 libzmq3 libxml2 mkdir -p /usr/local/sbin cp /tmp/oor /usr/local/sbin setcap cap_net_raw,cap_net_admin+ep /usr/local/sbin/oor

After that, follow the configuration instructions at https://github.com/OpenOverlayRouter/oor/blob/master/README.md#running-open-overlay-router

Would love to hear feedback, as I've no means of effectively testing this.

Re: What about Cisco´s LISP?

As a result of the tremendous outpouring of exactly no feedback whatsoever, I've masochistically compiled and uploaded an oor binary for mipsel (EdgeRouter-X) as well.  See link above for download location.
