new EdgeRouter X will not reset

I have a new ER-X EdgeRouter X that will not reset to 192.16.1.1 

I have pc in eth-0 and no k

Tried power on reset and power unplugged reset nothing worked

I am new so I maybe missing something basic

Did you try 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.16.1.1?

Sorry, that is what i tried (typo). 

When i did ipconfig I got 169.254.2.28

Try to set static IP on your pc:

ip=192.168.1.2, subnet=255.255.255.0

edgerouter doesn´t hand out DHCP when being reset.

I have tried setting IP and it still doe not connect to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2

set your PC to 192.168.1.2 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1

Then with the PC plugged into eth0, the ER should respond if you ping 192.168.1.1 (or open a webbrowser and navigate to https://192.168.1.1).

Note that these devices take about 5 minutes to boot after you've done a factory reset on them.

I am connected now. Just wondering if eth0 is only to config Router not as a device such as a pc to connect to internet?

well, out of the box it's the config port.  setup wizard will usually set it as the WAN port

Once it is a WAN port can it still be used to configure?

well, you "can" manage it from the internet, but that's generally a bad idea.

Once you finish running the configuration wizard (and reboot when prompted), it'll listen on ports 1,2,3,4 for additional configuration.

Glad that I found this, was facing the same issues:

It would be great that the Quick Start Guide would mention this, and / or the leds would blink in particular way while the device is re-booting.
