SunMax in Germany Availability?

Hmm, any chance these can/will be available in Europe, specifically Germany?

Power from normal lines are 29-31c/KW-H - about 50% of that is taxes!

Germany is a HUGE (the biggest) solar market to be missing out on (unless you are just waiting on approvals!?)

Here are some numbers:

ElectricityGermany2015-Percentage1-1024x672

Germany is the leader in the EU for renewables right now. So much so that earlier this year they combined to generate almost 100% of the required energy for that day:

More Than 90% Renewable Energy in Germany on 8 May 2016 12:45, Negative Prices Down to -178 EUR/MWh

Last Sunday at 12:45 it was sunny and windy, and the end of a long holiday weekend. It looks like this resulted in more than 90% renewable energy, a whopping 13.6 GW of power exports, and EPEX spot intraday continuous power prices down to -178.01 EUR/MWh, with a weighted average of -144.78 EUR/MWh during that time.

Based on aggregated data from Fraunhofer ISE on their energy-charts website (using the data for solar, wind and conventional above 100 MW, as of the time of writing this) this would add up to 96% of the power that stayed in the country. 13.59 GW were exported, 29% of non-export power. To be precise, the data German electricity production on 8 May 2016 at 12:45 CEST was

sourceGW% net production
solar27.6259%
wind17.337%
conventional >10015.3233%
total production60.24129%
export-13.59-29%
net production46.65100%

Im ready and willing to be the first SunMax user in Germany!

Re: SunMax in Germany Availability?

We actually have all of the certifications for nearly all of Europe.  We're just waiting on parts availability anddistributor agreements.  The End Run Connector is actually an active device in Europe in order to meet the requirement for redundancy for disconnection in the event of grid problems.  Once we have all of the parts ready to be stocked and shipping to distributors, then we'll be able to officially release in Europe.  It should be ready very soon, @UBNT-Jamie should have some more info.

Re: SunMax in Germany Availability?

Re: SunMax in Germany Availability?

Servus @MAKuser,
