Topology question

How do I add both of our internet connections to the gateway router in the topology?

Re: Topology question

I think I understand. We use a MikroTik router as our gateway, so I guess we cannot see those things.

@clarkraymond  Hello Raymond. It should be possible to add the Mikrotik router as a 3rd party device and then manually draw two data links to the internet. Here is an example:

Re: Topology question

@clarkraymond  Hello Raymond. Start here:

001.png

Select one of your sites and drag it into the internet frame. A popup will show on the right asking you to select a device from that site and its port to create the initial data link to the internet.

After you do this you should see something like this:

002.png

Click on the name of the site and it will move you into that particular part of your network so you can further develop your datalinks

003.png

Again just drag and drop devices and a popup will show asking you to define ports which are connected in that datalink.

Thanks, that worked - sort of.

We have two connections to two different ISPs. I seem only to connect the router to a single internet instance.  I would like to be able to monitor both connections for outages.

Re: Topology question

@clarkraymond  Hello Raymond. Yes, this is something you, unfortunately, cannot monitor right now. You can create two datalinks from your gateway to two different ISP without problems but outages are only monitored for devices. So even when your gateway gets the internet connection from just one ISP, it will have connected status in UNMS. We are going to add monitoring for each data link in future tough.
