UNMS Database

Is there a way to access the database for Clients and Sites?

Ive got a lot... Ive been entering them manually and Im up to 249 devices, 40 sites, and about 100 clients, Im not even close to done...

Is there a way to access the database so that I can automate this? Plus it would be nice to be able to automate in the future, since I have a site that already puts information in customer accounts, I could pull from that and push to UNMS.

If its not done in a database and with files, where are those files located?

I know that I would have to still set up the equiptment, cant really automate that. Just clients and sites could be imported.

No one likes double data entry!

Thank You

- Allan

Re: UNMS Database

@kookieman  I believe that the new feature will fulfill all described aspects. Let me please bring this page to your attention. We will most likely post an alpha version of 0.12.0 there, so if you want to try this feature asap this is a good point to watch. We will be looking forward to your feedback.

Re: UNMS Database

@kookieman  Hello Allan. In the 0.12.0 version of UNMS, we will add a feature for importing devices directly to a specified Site / Client. Data will be transported from .csv file. If you have some suggestions about this planned feature please let us know.

Re: UNMS Database

Just a way to be able to create a client from a table or a file would be nice.

That way when I click "save" in my admin site, I can have a script send out and update the file for the clients in UNMS.

Ive got every field that is in the client section in UNMS on my site, so it wouldnt be hard to script if there was a place for it.

That way, when someone makes a new wireless of fiber account in the site, it will push and update the UNMS clients as well. So when they are logged into the radio during setup, they can connect it with UNMS right then and there.

I even named my sites, the same exact thing in UNMS as I did in the site for this purpose and easy coding.

I love that you guys are open for feedback and suggestions.

Thank You, you took an idea like AirControl, and made it something super awesome.

Re: UNMS Database

@maxidea  Hello Massimiliano. Statistical data are not stored in PostgreSQL, they are in Redis. We would like to discourage you from accessing that DB directly because we are making a lot of changes there with new UNMS versions. We believe that using the API can be much more consistent and stable.

Re: UNMS Database

sorry can you point me in the right direction ?

I try the API, for example

curl -X POST "https://<myunmsurl>/v2.0/user/login" -H  "accept: application/json" -H  "content-type: application/json" -d "{  \"password\": \"<mypassword>\",  \"username\": \"myusername\",  \"sessionTimeout\": 3600000}"

and I get

{"id":"41edd11c-812e-4a36-a565-3453303649b0","username":"demo","email":"demo@ubnt.com","alerts":false}

the same result that i get with demo

I have UNMS 0.12.0 beta

@maxidea

not the same, use v2.1

curl -X POST "https://<myunmsurl>/v2.1/user/login" -H  "accept: application/json" -H  "content-type: application/json" -d "{  \"password\": \"<mypassword>\",  \"username\": \"myusername\",  \"sessionTimeout\": 3600000}"
