for AirMax sectors make future with options:
- Type of antennas for AP
- Azimuth for each sector
- Distance of coverage in meters
Add for each antenna coverage pattern
In result we can see schematecal coverage of each sector and possibility of choosing sector before installation.
It would be really nice if UNMS gave me a topology view of the network, where I can graphically see what routers and switches are connected to what others, which connections are active (e.g. when STP is used), stats about each connection, LLDP information, etc.
This will of course be most important when EdgeSwitch is also supported, and there's a hundred different ways to build/discover that topology (especially in non-pure-Ubiquiti environments). It's also possible to show different types of topologies - e.g. the pure physical topology, the L2 topology, L3 topology (with OSPF/BGP info), etc. Of course, I'd love to have all of them available
Worst case, if you all can't prioritize building the automatic topology discovery, being able to manually specify the physical topology and just see its drawing and stats about the links would still be nice.
I've faced a little annyoing situation: I'm preparing a couple of switches for later deployment. Basically, I'm applying a baseline config, update to the latest firmware (which is annyoing too, will open another thread about this) and put the switch in a shelve for later deployment (for example I'm deploying ES-8-150W when they are actually needed).
Anyway, UNMS will report an outage for those switches, so I would really like to see a feature to put them in some kind of a maintenance or offline mode. This should also influence the site state, which is "disconnected" right now. Should be "Online".
Please add an option in UNMS Settings, Maintenance or UNMS, to be able to do a restart of the software. I'm not looking for a full system restart, but being able to do a restart of the UNMS without having to go to the CLI would be great.
We have installed about 50 Amplifi routers and remote management of these via the Amplifi App is a bit ridiculous. And the Amplifi Controller is designed for an end user.
So, are there plans to manage Amplifi routers via UNMS?
When I first read the description
Manage all of your EdgeMAX®, EdgeSwitch®, airMAX® and UFiber devices.
Centralized devices configuration, backups and mass FW upgrade
It sounded amazing, because we run edge switch almost exsclusively throughout our 20 locations. I was kind of disapointed when I installed it and got some switches on there that there was very minimal settings that could be changed from UNMS. Unless I'm just not seeing it at all. But I went and tried the demo version you guys have out and went to other types of devices and found the configuration options I was thinking I'd see for the switches. We currently run something else for routers and have an all in one controller for those and we love it. I was hoping this would be very similar to that but for our switches. It'll be nice to keep the firmware all updated centerally but as for seeing if a switch is down and logs, we have already got an appliace for all of that. So this was kind of a bummer for me.
If it would be possible to have the ability to make mass changes such as adding/removing a user from all the switches, changing port configurations for one/all switches, security settings, changing vlan settings, settings that you would want to make all at once versus sshing into 50 different switches such as NTP, log destinations, stuff like that. If this is already available and I'm just blind please let me know.
It would be great if the terminal function could pop out, (other request already submitted), and also dynamically resize. On wide monitors there's still a character limit.
In this example you can see that the terminal is limited to X characters wide.
Sorry if I have missed it already, (please point me in the right direction)
I am looking for the abilty to change channels on my access points for PtP and PtMP. I did see in one of the intial realises this was a future realise option, any news.
Or is this possible via terminal?
Enjoy UNMS. Would like to see the time and date that the controller is using be displayed on the top bar to the right of the firmware version or the left of the "?". tHis would let you know exactly what time and date the controller is using to date stamp log entries and alerts. Similar to the time and date displayed in windows on the taskbar. This would be especially useful for those who have controllers running in different time zones, etc. See related post here.
