Request - OpenVPN Server GUI

Submitted by -
Status: New Idea
I would like to put in a feature request for OpenVPN server configuration (and client certificate generation) in the Unifi GUI. This would be a significant benefit. The lack of this feature is the main reason I have not deployed USGs more widely.

Would like to see Open VPN as an option in addition to L2TP as well. Thanks!

Same problem why must we use another solutions.

OpenVPN server is only manually possible to set up in USG and it is problem to make changes and big problem when changing units etc. Even there exist tutorials how to make it manually (https://www.naschenweng.info/2017/03/18/access-ubiquiti-home-network-openvpn-certificate-authenticat...) we need it definitelly on Controller GUI.

There is already site2site OpenVPN in gui but we still pray for OpenVPN serve with certificates generation for a very long long time because we need to connect mobile clients over OpenVPNclients.

BTW OpenVPN is only the way how to make automatic connect and disconnect VPN for a single app on android clients with Tasker.

Yes, I agree with the comments from previous persons; I think it is quite remarkable that there do not seem to be more safe vpn options - or generally perceived to be the most vpn options - e.g. OpenVPN or L2TP/IPSEC for single external users. I would dearly like to have these options easily at hand in the gui.

Currently, for external single users, L2TP in combination with radius seems to be the main option. To my knowledge this is just a tunneling option without encryption and thereby not the most safe and recommanded one..

Agreed with everyone here. OpenVPN is easily available with PFSense in the GUI. It’s  one of the main reasons I consider PFSense over USG.

This would be very nice. Please integrate this in USG firmware.

Yes, crucial !!

Just check the amount of scripts and tips on how to install OpenVPN, and the amount of queries for howtos and additional explanations as an indicator for its necessity. Installing OpenVPN is currently hard, and with the increased focus on security this should be a no brainer.

This should get implemented with priority.
