Give user access to specific cameras

Is there a way to control which cameras a user can view/access on Unifi Protect. I found this to be a very useful feature of Unifi Video that I have not seen in Protect.

Re: Give user access to specific cameras

Currently, you can only grant individual users either administrative access or view-only access to all cameras (not specific individual cameras). Granular control over specific cameras is on the roadmap.

Specific control of camera permissions

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I would like to know when we will have this feature?

Specific control of camera permissions / granular permissions.

Thanks,

Daniel.

Re: Specific control of camera permissions

I would like to know as well. The platform isn't useful for us without it.

Re: Give user access to specific cameras

Thanks. I'm running 1.5.0 and it says "Your NVR is up to date". How can I get 1.6.0?

@jasondeemstl,

Did your Protect install upgrade to v1.6.0?

Re: Specific control of camera permissions

It shows we're running 1.5.0. We have "Enable Automatic Controller Updates" turned on. I also tried turning it off and manually selecting "Check For Updates". When I click "Update" it says "Your NVR is up to date" yet remains on 1.5.0

Re: Specific control of camera permissions

@jasondeemstl we will have a proper fix out for this sometime in the next week or so, that doesn’t require ssh access so if you’re not able to do this, it will get resolved on its own with time.

Re: Specific control of camera permissions

@jasondeemstl,

Just in case you would like to learn how to connect via SSH, this article provides a good introduction:

https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/218850057-Intro-to-Networking-How-to-Establish-a-Connection-...

You can use the username "root" and the password you configured when configuring the CloudKey (the password used to log into the CloudKey interface that shows the two controllers and the option to upgrade the firmware).

Once you have connected and are at the terminal prompt, you can copy and paste this command, then hit enter:

psql unifi-protect -U postgres -c "update nvrs set \"releaseChannel\"='release'" && service unifi-protect restart
