Move WANs into Networks for improved flexibility

Submitted by -
Status: Implemented

Move WAN configuration into Networks section to improve flexibility, so interface purposes aren't fixed. e.g. allow WAN2 port to be configured as a LAN if desired, allow multiple VLAN config on a WAN, etc.

It's been pushed to 5.8.x controller, the work's nearing completion but it's a huge change and we're at a point of stabilizing 5.7.x.

@motts no way to handle at CLI.

Already bought the 2 units fo the UF-MM-1G-2 and multimode patch cables to do exactly that via a WAN to LAN reorientation.

This is an emminently sensible configuration flexibility that just sells itself!

Cheers

Any news here? When can we expect to see a 5.8 beta where we can use the WAN SFP for LAN?

@UBNT-cmb  You know 5,8 still not started also. We need new router like 8 ports like edgerouter and better power supply and cpu.

Can you talk to people who is designing tell them this year I rma 4 Unifi 4 pro routers power failures mostly and we need a better router.  Better CPU and 8 Port that can be configured whatever. it can be 6 + 2 SFP.

this is for me but you might want to create voting on forums see what people want this router is not enough beta one is too expensive have to much We need  like 299$ up to task router.

Hopes raised when I saw in earlier post that it was due to arrive in 5.7 but then got bumped to 5.8 Man Sad

That begs the question where do I find approximate timescales for 5.8 beta and release?
