USG: Install unix commands 'nslookup' and 'dig'

Submitted by
Status: Implemented

Sometimes you need to check a domain name, see if it gets resolved correctly and maybe adding a static route.

Having the standard unix tools 'nslookup' and 'dig' would really help on the administration side.

Same. Not available by default, but this worked for me on Unify Security Gateway v4.4.22

curl -o /tmp/dnsutils.deb
sudo dpkg -i /tmp/dnsutils.deb

dig +short MX

#use as the DNS server to get results from /etc/host or /etc/dnsmasq.d/whatever.conf files
nslookup #assuming is your local domain
dig myusg @
