I'm fully aware that IPv6 can be configured from the CLI now but UniFi is a SDN product which means that all if not most features should be able to be configured from the controller. not from the CLI.
I'm suggesting that UBNT include the IPv6 Settings under WAN settings for USG like as shown below. (Sorry, my drawing isn't very good)
In the IPv6 Connection Type, the following should be included:
1. Native IPv6
2. Tunnel 6to4
3. Tunnel 6in4
4. Tunnel 6rd
5. Static IPv6
Other than that, the following options in the picture should alse be included:
I don't know how Asus did it, but their routers are smart enough to get the right prefix without my intervention, I wish USG will have this feature too.
I wish UBNT will include full IPv6 support into the controller ASAP that is easy to setup without much technical knowledge.
I have a site with 2 ISP's where the second ISP function as a fail-over.
I would like to see if and when the fail-over has been activated, and a notification via email would also be very welcome when the fail-over kicks in.
I'd like to be able to quickly block an entire country worth of IP addresses. This is trivial for a small country, say Cambodia, but with China having over 7000 assigned IP blocks this gets to be a really big headache. Ideally, I'd like a drop-down list of countries to block, and have the IP blocks for those countries pulled dynamically from somewhere like IPDeny.
Double bonus points if I can tell it "only allow from USA, drop everything else."
As an interim measure, can you at least let me copy and paste a huge list of IP blocks?
It would be great to be able to see the CPU and RAM Usage on the USG I know this can be done via SSH. But it would be very nice to see how much is in use just like what you guys have done with the AP's on the latest version of UniFi. Adding a temperature reading as well would be a bonus
The USG is a great product with a lot of power, BUT the fact you cannot write/save firewall rules without using JSON is insane. It's cumbersome, breaks your device config half the time when simple syntax errors are there, there is no JSON validator....it's just garbage.
Since this has been built from EdgeOS and that product's firewall can be configured from GUI why can't this one? Even if the firewall settings were a local UI in the USG first not in the Unifi controller that would be a great stop gap! PLEASE add this somehow so we can unlock the full potential of the USG for small business use and proper firewall rule handling!
At the same time add DHCP customization for each network's settings into the UI specifically DNS servcers and the option to use DNS forwarding through the gateway or not. Honestly look at the Cisco RV180 product....for the same price it has both these features!
Move WAN configuration into Networks section to improve flexibility, so interface purposes aren't fixed. e.g. allow WAN2 port to be configured as a LAN if desired, allow multiple VLAN config on a WAN, etc.
I would like to have (or wish for) a report of clients with DHCP-reservation. Not only a list view but also the possibility to change and remove certain reservations.
I had some trouble previously where an offline client (camera) came online and I had set another camera on the same IP.
Is it possible to plan to extend the DPI feature, and add a view to see in near realtime the bandwidth usage on a per device basis ?
As it is done on the ERL.
this allow to easily find who is using all the bandwidth, and for what traffic.
It would be very nice with a series of "cheap" 10 Gbit copper Unifi swichs. Maybe combined with some 1Gbit ports as well (4+4 / 8+8 ... 8+16) So we can build a backbone in our netwærk between servers / workstations / NAS / and other swichs.
The only other option is a 48 port switch with two sfp + which is not cheap and overkill + too little 10Gbit...
As the subject says, the UniFi controller would be a great place to combine user management with radius services. This could then be used for VPN clients as well as wifi enterprise.
On smaller networks, a separate radius server is a lot of overhead.
It would be nice to see a smaller port-density UniFi switch, preferably with ability to desk mount (table top), wall mount, or rack mount (I know big long removable ears are problematic but sometimes you don't need 24 ports in a rack).
I'm thinking 5 or 8 ports with limited POE (to eliminate heat production and therefore not require loud fans).
Hi i would like to see the option off setting the doman name for dhcp scoop in the gui.
If i could set the domain name all the unifi gear i connect would automaticly get mycorp.com domain name from dhcp. Since i have set the unifi.mycorp.com on external dns pointing to my cloud controller all new unifi gear would find the controller. This would make deploying new gear in remote sites alot easyer then ssh and set inform.
Please add this option since it's needed and would allow multi site deployment to go mutch easyer =)
I love the UniFi line for small businesses. It's fantastic. The only issue I have is that it's really hard to sell my small/medium business customers and smaller hotels on the switch, especially when the AP-LR-3 pack comes with PoE adapters anyway. I typically end up quoting a TP-LINK smart switch which is literally a third of the price in order to make the sale, and they work fine and do everything they need - it's just a shame that I can't manage them via UniFi and have to port forward the management interface if I need to reconfigure the switch.
