Migrate configuration from one cloudkey to another

[ Edited ]

Hello,

The MicroUSB port on my cloudkey broke and I had to buy a new one to manage my switches and AP's. What's the easiest way to migrate the config from one CloudKey to another?

Is the configuration stored on the MicroSD Card? I tried swapping them and didn't have any luck.

Please let me know what I should do.

Thanks,

Collin Watkins

Re: Migrate configuration from one cloudkey to another

If you had Auto Backup enabled, the backups would be on the SD card.

If you didn't then you need to get the CK powered up using PoE.

Log into controller and download a backup from Maintenance page.

Re: Migrate configuration from one cloudkey to another

do a full backup on the broken one (include historical stats if you want) download that to your computer. shut off the old CK.
Plug in the new CK set the IP address to what the old CK IP was, when you get to the step of restoring a backup do it.

When it is finished restoring go get an Ice Cream cone at your favorite creamery because you are done.

Thanks! Had no idea the CloudKey supported PoE. I see on other posts the 48W-24V injector worked well for users. I've ordered one.

Thank you!

Re: Migrate configuration from one cloudkey to another

Sorry, I can't find the option to backup the cloud key. If I log onto the cloud key directly, on the maintenance page there are options to restore, but nothing to backup. Then if I log onto the Unifi portal there's no option to backup there either.

How do I back up the config to move it over to the new device?

Thanks,
