Multiple ports dead on two different 8-150W switches

Two of my Unifi 8 port 150w switches have had multiple ports die. A couple of the ports on each provide power but do not pass any traffic and several other ports just do not work period. The switches are plugged into a PSU/back up battery and have not had any sudden power loss. I have tried hard resetting both switches but it changed nothing.

What devices did you have plugged into these ports that have died? Were the outdoor APs by any chance?

One was a LiteAP AC 120, one was the port between both switches, five others were G3 bullet cameras, and one was a UAP-AC Pro.

Re: Multiple ports dead on two different 8-150W switches

And all the ports died at the same time? Sounds like an ESD event caused the failure. Probably starting at the LiteAP AC 120. What cable were you using from the Switch to the LiteAP?

For outdoor equipment, you should use something like ToughCable with properly terminated ToughEnds. This combination of cable and ends will help drain off the static charge that accumulates on the wire to the ground.

Without the drain wire being properly terminated from end to end, the discharge can run through the copper pairs and damage Ethernet ports on network devices.
