Redirecting DNS Requests

Hi all i have a device which i would like to redirect dns requests to another device.

How do i go about doing this in the unifi and example config would be great.

Device A has an ip address of 192.168.0.185

Device B has an ip address of 192.168.0.8

Basically how does this get done in a unifi enviroment.

Can the rule be placed in a jason file or done via the gui?

I have been doing some reading but i cant get my head around it as yet.

If someone who is knowledgeable in acheiving this please chime in.

Current hardware setup is as follows.

1x USG

1 x Unifi POE 16 port Unifi Switch

3x Unifi Access Points

Regards

The quick fix is to assign a fixed DNS server in the OS for the device in question. Assuming it's managed and used by you.

UCKG2+ / USG 3P / USW 8-60 / USW 8 / 2 x UAP-AC-PRO / UAP-AC-M-PRO / UVC G3 Dome

Re: Redirecting DNS Requests

Thanks for your reply.  Unfortunatly the device i am trying to redirect wont give me the ability to change the dns settings.

Just takes them from the network its attached too.

Only thing i can do is reserve the ip address via the controller software but unable to change the dns hence my question.

Still looking for a work around.

Re: Redirecting DNS Requests

Tried the following...

rule 10 {
destination {
port 53
}
inbound-interface eth1
inside-address {
address 192.168.0.8
}
protocol tcp_udp
source {
address 192.168.0.188
}
type destination

Still no joy...
