I have a Samsing smart TV connected directly to a switch 8 by a 1 m cat6 cable.
For whatever reason sometimes starting the TV, there is no network connection. the only way to get connection is to ask the TV 2 or 3 times to re-discover the network, than the TV will report the connection is fine and the TV will operate without issues.
The connection with the same cable was fine when I was using a not managed switch.
Any suggestions what I can do to solve this hickup ?
Thank you for the suggestion, I have quite some sonos speakers in my network, so turning off STP may be not the best solution.
If I turn of the STP, I will have a lot of loops.
As in my network I have 2 sonos devices connected via ethernet, this can / will create loops if the switches are not managed correctly.
Using STP with the correct settings in the root / secondary switches wil make the network stable, but for whatever reason my TV is not happy with this setting.
