Switch lineup

Any plans to expand the switch lineup? I'm looking for a business/enterprise/industrial class managed 16-port full GbE non-POE switch with:

  • 802.1q/p
  • 802.3ad/802.1ax
  • 802.1x
  • (optional/bonus: 2 SFP+)

I think the ToughSwitch TS-16-CARRIER comes close, but I'd rather not have PoE on this particular switch. I would prefer to stay in the UBNT universe (UniFi controller, in particular), but I'm open to consider other options.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

What about the 24 port edgeswitch lite?

Re: Switch lineup

TS-16 carrier are just 2 TS-8 PRO on the same case, you have to uplink both switches, so you start over loosing 2 ports. And they also do not have SFPs, let alone SFP+.

The UBNT switch that most closely matches what you want is indeed the edgeswitch lite.

Re: Switch lineup

Just be aware the edge switch lite cannot be managed or seen by the Unifi controller.
The US-24-250w is POE but is controlled by the Unifi controller.

Is there a reason to avoid POE?

Re: Switch lineup

Verses the Lites?   The PoE switches draw too much power to be DC powered for redundancy (or direct DC supply) like the Lites.  The Lites also cost less.   And generate less heat.   And are physically smaller.    If you don't need PoE, they are a better solution all around.

Re: Switch lineup

This is why the lineup needs a US-24-Lite . . .

Just saying
