I just had my US-48-500W die on me suddenly overnight. I luckily had a US-24-250W to throw into its place until I can get things sorted out. Unfortunately for me, the switch is a few months out of warranty which means Ubiquiti support is of absolutely no help.
I did some googling and it didn't take me long to find that almost all of the posts referencing the power supply failure on this switch have problems with the 'R5' resistor. There are no shortage of posts across this forum, both unifi and edgeswitches seem to be effected.
Sure enough, I took a look inside of my switch power supply and 'R5' is blown!
It is my understanding that the boards run off of 24V. Has anybody successfully thrown another 24v power supply inside of one of these switches (off-brand), or repaired the ones that are supplied? I cannot afford to buy another switch.

Adding a bump here, I purchased a used switch and like many others the PSU is fried. Anyone been able to locate a source for a replacement power supply unit?

I'll bump this too. I am now on my second dead switch due to power board failure on a 48-500w switch. Has anyone secured a source for parts?
