US-8-60W firmware upgrade from cloud key failed

[ Edited ]

Hi at all,

I'm beginning to transfer my network to Ubiquit devices an began with Cloud Key and some UAC-AP-LR. All works fine. I can adopt, provisioning and upgrade firmware through the cloud key.

Now I connected an US-8-60W in the network. It was listed automatically in the Cloud Key and I could adopt it. After that the device list shows the upgrade button for the switch. But the upgrade failes every time, I started it. The firmware is already cached on the cloud key.

My toplogy:

Because the switch was listed automatically on the cloud key and I could adopt it, the communication is available.

In the firewall of the homeoffice 1 I can see, that the switch want to download the firmware from the internet, not from the controller. Why? In the management network there is internet access. For that I want to have the Cloud Key.

At the moment I have physically access to the switch, in the future I will not.

Info on the switch:

BusyBox v1.19.4 (2017-08-11 10:15:15 PDT) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

Re: US-8-60W firmware upgrade from cloud key failed

it is cached already:

I've deleted all files via WUI before and cached it again.

But I'm an error ahead. In /var/log/messages I found:

Sep 15 11:19:50 UBNT user.err syslog: ace_reporter.stun_send(): Failed resolving URL 'stun://unifi/'

And a download via curl only works with IP, not with dns short name:

US.v3.8.9# curl 'http://unifi:8080/dl/firmware-cached/US24P250/3.9.42.9152/US.bcm5334x.v3.9.42.9152.180709.2252.bin'
curl: (6) Couldn't resolve host 'unifi'

If I switch the dns server entries in /etc/resolv.conf, it works, because only the router lookup the short name correctly:

nameserver X.X.2.2

-rw-r--r--    1 ubntadmi admin      14.8M Sep 15 11:26 firmware.dns.bin

So I have to change my dhcp settings, that deal this configuration settings.

Thanks for the talk about. I'm still learning.

Re: US-8-60W firmware upgrade from cloud key failed

Can you click the CACHED button in your first picture, to show that the firmware for the switch is actually cached on the Cloud Key?
I did it my way .... Man Happy
