Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

hi @dlaplexurenet

Yes I have a USG4-PRO.

Yes I used the GUI for all settings...

I rolled back to 4.36 firmware

But still not working, impossible to get an IPv6 on the PPPoE2 interface...

I'll start from a clean config next week.

Thanks for your help

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

I see that a new Controller has been released in beta...

https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Beta-Blog/UniFi-Network-Controller-5-10-5-beta-has-been-released...

and in the fix list there is that:

- Fix double DHCPv6-PD node with PPPoE and DHCPv6.

Is related to the issue I/we have ?

Installed yesterday night, but still can't get an IPv6...

I'll work on this next week by starting a new fresh clean configuration...

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

I've upgraded my controller to 5.10 beta and everything seems to work so far for me without entering CLI to fix something. Did a full reprovision and restart of the USG-4 Pro.

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

I just finished upgrading Cloud Key Gen2 Plus to 0.8.10 and UniFi Controller to 5.10.

I do confirm what Raoul wrote, no more changes in CLI needed in order to have IPv6 working with POST Telecom. Works all fine for me now.

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

Hi,

I started everything from scratch, forgot all devices, deleted all config, factory reset of the CloudKey Gen2

I started everything over...

And it doesn't work for me...

Wan doesn't get an IPv6 and none of my lan devices get an IPv6

I have a Fixed IP

I don't have the fiber, I still stuck with a SAGEM Box with a ADSL Trunk...

But the Fritzbox is working with IPv6.

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

I believe you are on a VDSL line as you are using the Sagem box (probably for bonding) and therefore you aren't on Mono-VC mode.

@dlaplexurenet can you check if on LuxFibre in Multi-VC mode there are any differences from Mono-VC mode?

@pwal can you send me your access username (no password!) via PM. A person at POST will check more in detail where the issue is.

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

So POST Technologies did reply fast. They informed me that the DUID needs to match on the MAC address, which is not the case for your requests (see my previous comment - I’ll send you your specific MAC/DUID in PM).

Do you open the connection directly or do you bridge towards SAGEM?

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

@dlaplexurenet

The USG4-Pro is directly connected to the SAGEM ... so I open it directly...

I don't have any access to the SAGEM menu I can't do anything on it...

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

So I had some time to have a deeper dive on my side. So actually what I see from my side is that the DUID is set with the MAC address from eth0, eventhou the PPPoE/WAN interface is eth2:

superadm@UniFiGateway:~$ show dhcpv6-pd duid
DUID 00:01:00:01:23:cb:ca:41:f0:9f:c2:11:95:52
superadm@UniFiGateway:~$ show interfaces ethernet eth0
eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UP
    link/ether f0:9f:c2:11:95:52 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.1.1/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global eth0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 2001:xxxx/64 scope global
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 fe80::xxxx/64 scope link
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    Description: LAN

RX: bytes packets errors dropped overrun mcast
    310472973361 410994283 0 26 0 1341346
TX: bytes packets errors dropped carrier collisions
    371836448417 421879278 0 0 0 0
superadm@UniFiGateway:~$ show interfaces ethernet eth2
eth2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UP
link/ether f0:9f:c2:11:95:54 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet6 fe80:xxxx/64 scope link
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
Description: WAN

RX: bytes packets errors dropped overrun mcast
142008494353 109504818 0 395 0 2828
TX: bytes packets errors dropped carrier collisions
52856030100 100285766 0 119 0 0
superadm@UniFiGateway:~$

Can you have a look at your config? Because as they person from PTech says, the MAC address from your DUID is not matching the MAC address which is doing the PPPoE sessions, but still, doing a MAC lookup, I see that your both MAC address are from Ubiquiti Networks and thus, they are very probably from your USG (*:CF from interface vs. *:CD from DUID). Can you check to which interfaces these MACs belong to?

So physically you have connected the Sagem to the WAN1 port of the USG which is the eth2, can you confirm this using "show interfaces"? I suppose that your WAN2 port is disabled? From LAN1 (eth0) you probably go towards your switch?

Please execute

show dhcpv6-pd duid

And try to find the according physical interface with the MAC address inside of your DUID.

Hope to get it running soon ;-)

PS: the fix IP is not the issue here, I do also have a fix IPv4 and IPv6.

eth0 is my lan... as eth0 is labelled LAN1 on USG4-Pro

pakal@gw02:~$ show interfaces ethernet eth0
eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UP

pakal@gw02:~$ show dhcpv6-pd duid
DUID 00:01:00:01:23:ce:68:1e:fc:ec:da:43:0c:cd

eth2 is the PPPoE and connected directly to the SAGEM ....

(as eth2 is labeled WAN1 on the USG4-Pro)

eth2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UP

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

[ Edited ]

When I tested to get internet to work some weeks ago, before I found this thread, I could not get any webpages to load, with ipv4 only and usg4 pro. I got an ipv4 adress but I could not load any webpages.

Had connected the post fiber converter to usg wan1 and usg lan1 to unifi switch. Pppoe connection with correct login and pw and with vlan35.

Any ideas what I did wrong? If I have time i will try again. Do I need to pull the converter from power to restart it?

@idontkn0w123it should be VLAN 35 and not VLAN 5 on your PPPoE ...

Re: USG (4.4.xx) can't get any IPv6 from POST Luxembourg via PPPoE

Do you have a gateway and DNSes set on your local machine?

The gateway must be your router IP

The DNS should be your router IP or any DNS you set in your DHCP
