[USG] Firmware v4.4.29 now available

Details here.

Note: If you are running a 5.8.x or 5.9.x controller, you should upgrade to 5.8.30 or 5.9.26 (or newer if available at the time you're reading this) prior to upgrading USG.

It'll be current on 5.8.x at some point in the next 24 hours, exactly when you see it depends on when your controller does an update check, or if you force one. If you force a check in a couple hours or so it should be there.

It's already current for 5.9.x.

Re: [USG] Firmware v4.4.29 now available

I updated this already as beta with no issues.

Today I deployed a new mesh ap with wireless uplink. It worked fine as it had got its first config via wired connection before deployed to site.

After i provisioned changes the AP went into the encryption error state.

It is still connected via wireless uplink, so I can ssh into it and look at the info tool output.

I try to reset but then it tries to adopt automatically and fails.

So @UBNT-cmb I cannot confirm that the encryption error problem is gone.

If it doesnt show up while clicking "check firmware update" under Settings > Maintenance you have the option of a custom upgrade with the links provided in the blog post. Custom upgrade can be found under the device properties panel > config > manage device.

From what I read here it sounds like you're having an issue with the AP and not the USG. Is that the case or is there an ongoing issue with the USG? This thread should be for USG firmware related issues and not AP firmware.

In that case just paste the URL for the firmware into the custom upgrade and you can do it right now. Go to Devices, click USG, in its properties panel on the right, go to Config tab, expand Manage Device, paste the URL into the box there and click Custom Upgrade button.

You can force the controller to check under Settings, Maintenance, Check Firmware Update.

The change related to that noted here is only applicable to USG. That same change will also make UAP and USW releases in the future, it just hasn't yet.

But that's the symptom rather than the actual problem. It's not really a decrypt error, it just means the controller returned some error code. With the fix here, it would show the actual error code rather than "decrypt error", but that in and of itself doesn't fix anything, just helps determine the root problem. The server.log on your controller will have more info as to what the problem is. Please start a thread on the Wireless board with the contents of your server.log and a description of the problem.

Re: [USG] Firmware v4.4.29 now available

Think this update will fix the random reboots I'm having on the USG XG? I have IPS disabled, DPI disabled, Speed Test disabled.

Two random reboots in the last week. Running 5.8.30

Re: [USG] Firmware v4.4.29 now available

Any chance this fixes the still broken DPI logging on the USG-XG, @UBNT-cmb?

Re: [USG] Firmware v4.4.29 now available

Thanks for this. I didn't know the upgrade could be forced this way. Checking from the maintenance page still doesn't show on my 5.8,30 controller.

Testing now on 2 smaller sites.

Was running 5.8.30 and it crashed my web interface, had to restart the service after upgrade on the first site.

There aren't any known stability issues with it in any recent version. Could you get a serial console on it in case it happens again so we have some info on what's happening?

With offload disabled it appears to have sane stats now. We still have an open issue with offload enabled and under-counting.

That'd be a coincidence. The devices don't talk to the management web UI at all or have a direct impact on it. That's a problem though clearly, could you send me a support file from your controller? Settings, Maintenance, Download Support Info. PM me a link here or email to chris.buechler at ubnt dot com with a reference to the issue.

@UBNT-cmb

I am getting a "commit error" when attempting this firmware upgrade on my USG Pro. It is stuck provisoning.

I tried the updgrade icon shown in the Devices view and I tried the Custom Upgrade using the link to the .tar file.

Cloud Key Controller version: 5.8.30-11076-1

Cloud Key Firmware version: UCK.mtk7623.v0.11.12.650c948.180907.1648

Here is the error (screen capture also attached):

Do you have DHCP information in a config.gateway.json, by chance?  I had this same thing recently.  It was because of a naming change.  Had to update my json to reflect the new network names.
