USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

Hi, I have a USG-PRO-4 that restarts around every 2 days.  I saw some posts on the forum which suggested to upgrade to 4.3.12 firmware, but I have a much newer firmware with this issse.  Here are the details of my USU:

Model UniFi Security Gateway 4P
Version 4.3.15.4872675

Also, I've attached an image of the notifications, just because.

Re: USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

I have same issues, but with a  USG-3P.

No idea why this keeps occuring. It happens at multiple sites sometimes every day. (Units reset at different times not simultaneously)

[ Edited ]

Having the same issue here, been fighting it since February with various firmware updates.

Personally, I have neither the time nor the inclination to test UBNT's products for them (it does make you stop and think (or should) how well these devices are tested before being launched to paying customers (Square AC problems, Gen 2 UAP-AC slow connectivity issues, etc)

I tried to return my units but was informed by UBNT that since they were opened they were not returnable even given the nature of these devices being defective with multiple reboots.  Luckily, AMEX stepped in an got my money back - time is limited so may want to keep that option in mind depending on how you paid for the units.

Re: USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

Have you tried disabling the hardware offload? Are you running dpi? If you can, get a console log of the crash and send it to ubnt.

Re: USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

Unfortunately doing this detriments the performance for which I purchase the device for in the first place.  This is an option, but it's not really an option

Re: USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

@Bryan303 This is a new crash. Thanks for the report. Would you mind sharing a supp file with me? You can send it via PM (linked) or via Email.

For what it's worth, there are still some lingering crashes as of 4.3.15. We can only debug it with console output. They're still under investigation at this time..

Cheers,

Mike

@UBNT-MikeD,

Just a quick update... I'm now seeing crashes much more frequently, at times it's every hour.

We need console output to even know what is actually happening. Otherwise the why is unknown. So far, every time I've been provided a console log, it has been a different crash. There are several under investigation right now. It would be nice if it was one of the known ones being investigated now, but also would be good to confirm.

Some things you can try immediately? Disable DPI if it's enabled. It it already is disabled, or continues then disable hardware offload, and if that still doesn't help you can try downgrading to 4.3.12 (found under past firmware). If stability is restored, then re-enable hardware offload (ideally you want it enabled).

Cheers,

Mike

Re: USG-Pro-4 Restarting every 2 days

Well, I was hopping that upgrading the controller to 5.0.6 might fix the restart issues. But, just now I experienced two back to back restarts.

Restart on 5.0.6.PNG

Current firmware on the USG is: 4.3.16.4879270. I wasn't able to capture a console output on this.

@UBNT-MikeD can you please provide us an update? These crashes are getting quite annoying.
