USG-XG-8 10G SFP+ issue

Hi all,

I might be missing something but every time I try to use dhcp on a 10G LAN interface (via fiber) no dhcp seem to be working.
If I switch out the SFP+ module for an RJ45 or 1G fibre one everything works fine.

I'm using the config.gateway.json file for setting the port groups to either 1G (5-8) or 10G (1-4) and use the interface remapping for the swapping between modules)

port 1: 10G SFP+ (UF-MM-10G)

port 5: 1G SFP (generic fibre module)

port:6 1G SFP (UF-RJ45-1G)

(port 8 and port 0 are used for WAN fail-over)

If I use the same UF-MM-10G modules between the US-XG-16 and a US-48-500W they work as expected.

Regards,

Jasper

Re: USG-XG-8 10G SFP+ issue

DHCP should have nothing to do directly with the physical interface - is there actual traffic over the port/SFP+ when you connect things that way?   We do this right now with SFP Ports set to 10Gb and DHCP works fine...

Re: USG-XG-8 10G SFP+ vs 1G SFP issue

Hi,

I know that in theory this shouldn't matter, so I've been trying to debug the issue.

So after reflashing a few different firmware I get the following results (I can reproduce this regardless of the flash order)

With USG 4.4.22.5086045:
SFP+ 10G: works
SFP Fiber 1G: doesn't work
SFP RJ45: doesn't work / works (unstable at best)

With USG 4.4.26.5102927:
SFP+ 10G: works
SFP Fiber 1G: doesn't work
SFP RJ45: works (when upgrading from 4.4.22.5086045 and having this port active for LAN) / doesn't work (after remapping)

With USG v4.5.3dev.5076582.180405.1934:
SFP+ 10G: works
SFP Fiber 1G: doesn't work
SFP RJ45: doesn't work

The US-16-XG is always on 3.9.42.9152

port 1: 10G (fixed to 10G, via config.gateway.json, Autonegotiation in the controller)
port 5: 1G (fixed to 1G, via config.gateway.json, Autonegotiation in the controller)
port 6: RJ45 (fixed to 1G, via config.gateway.json, Autonegotiation in the controller)

So at this point I'm not even sure why 10G now works and 1G no longer work.

I'll do some more testing on this tomorrow or next week
