Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

@UBNT-MikeD I successfully upgraded from 5.10.11 to 5.10.12. I did run into a problem with my config.gateway.json file.

I use static-mappings to add my local hosts to the dnsmasq DNS. In my config.gateway.json I had an extra comma at the end of the last static mapping. This led to my config.gateway.json being rejected, and all my hosts to fall out of DNS.

It took me a while to find the cause, especially since the same config.gateway.json worked on the previous version (and just about every version before it).

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

Liking (and appreciating) the dark mode add!  Is there a plan to roll that out to the mobile apps?  Logged in via iPhone and it's still light mode.

Would this be an app enhancement, or should the dark mode setting on the controller perpetuate to the clients accessing it (whether mobile or desktop)?

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I like that the theme can be darkened.  I am less blinded by everything.

I am disappointed to see that there are no widgets that will display the status of Site-to-Site VPN's.  The ease with which these are setup is a major selling point for these devices in the Retail and Small Enterprise Markets.  However, if there is no way to easily check the status for Site-to-Site VPN's and track their performance/issues in the logs then it doesn't matter much if it is easy or not.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I updated to the stable release of 5.10 from latest stable 5.9, on an Ubuntu 17 cloud-hosted VM

Every device was reprovisioned at every site. The only device that had an issue was the USG3P (fw 4.4.36) in the home office.  It would provision and reboot in a loop. It would come up, connect to the internet, the whole house would be online, then it would get provisioned, reboot, and knock everything offline again. All other devices at all other sites were fine.

I factory reset the device, forget, adopt, but it would continue rebooting when it provisioned.

I restored a backup  to get the controller back on 5.9. I reset/forgot/adopt the USG and now it worked fine again. All other devices tried to  check in with the controller, but  their info status was "Server Rejected".  I guess it has something to do with the new config they were provisioned with 5.10 and 5.9 rejected their connection, I dunno, you tell me.

Rather than reset/forget/adopt every device across all sites, I upgraded the controller to 5.10 again and decided to just focus on the one misbehaving device. All other devices checked in normally once the controller was back on 5.10. I reset/forgot/adopted the USG again. This time it provisioned and stayed up. 12+ hours later and no other issues with this device or any others on 5.10

I don't need support a this point, I ust wanted to write this up in case anyone else had similar issues.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

[ Edited ]

Does the Airtime Utilization per AP graph seem right? I have two UAP AC Pros(4.0.21.9965) but the graph only shows one plotted line on the graph. There is also no way to tell if it is for 2G or 5G network or is that channel utilization?

When I select last 1 hour it shows this

last hour.PNGlast hour

But if I select any other timeframe (last 24 hours, today etc) the graph zeros out.

last 24hours.PNGLast 24 hours

On the Dashbaord, I also noticed selecting any or all AP in "Filter by Access Point" clears the list of anomalies even though they are WiFi related logs.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

Tried upgrading from 5.9.29-11384-1 to 5.10.12-11629-1:

Screenshot_20190208-221054_JuiceSSH.jpg

This is a pi 3 running raspbian stretch.

uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 4.14.79-v7+ #1159 SMP Sun Nov 4 17:50:20 GMT 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux

I know these logs aren't probably helpful save the error code. Looks like it fails to start. Ended up rolling back to 5.29 no problem. Yes i did the logs n upgrade from juicessh on my droid. Super painful i know 😀. I hope i typed this out half straight.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I'm getting the same error as @thegman. Fresh install of 5.9.29 on pi3 stretch a couple of weeks ago with no errors, upgrade to any build above it and got the same error.

Am I the only one struggling with strange statistics look on Debian installation? This is 5.10.12 version - the same was on the previous stable one.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I take it back. The ISP Load history graph has been fixed. For some reason, when I logged back in I had the 5.10.12 controller backend and the 5.9.29 UI. It was only when I closed the browser and logged back in for a second time that I got the 5.10.12 UI.

Weird. Anyway, all good now.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

If you were on 5.29 before, just reinstall the old package with dpkg -i. Should come back up since nothing was migrated since it never ran.

Check the version of java that is running on your Raspberry Pi. The default version shipped by raspbian is too old.

I'm guessing 4.5.3 is incompatible with 5.10.xx ?
