Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

Just upgraded the Controller and Cloudkey 2+ firmware. My USG has rebooted like 4 times on me though. If it does it while I'm in the middle of something AGAIN, I'll be downgrading...

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I like the new interface (mostly).  But I find the configuration section extremely hard to navigate.  So much blank space and so hard to identify what/where to actually enter changes.  A good UI should draw your eye to the relevant area.  This does just the opposite.

Google didn't help me with that error messages. The Controler seems to run correctly, but I still have these error messages. Any ideas or should I ignore them?

Update seems to have gone well for the CKG2+ for both firware and controller. Sad to see there is still no OpenVPN server setup support in the GUI. Not gonna stop complaining about that.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

Installed 5.10.12 on my small home network. Everything seems ok except the new "wifi experience" feature. It periodically displays 0% for different devices, even though those devices are connected and having not wifi issues. This seems to resolve itself by what I believe is the controller reconnecting the devices, but there was no problem to begin with.

Found this about the two of the problematic devices (both iPhones):

Cause: DHCP Timeout
Recommendation:    Please check that your DHCP server is accessible and properly configured

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

I had the same problem on Raspberry Pi.

Did clean install (removed all unifi data) and restored from last backup. Seems to working now, I am getting same error on starting but it works. Strange but i cannot connect to the cloud now, but i don't care about cloud.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

The upgrade worked without issues however I hoped to find some new config options for mDNS repeater (together with an updated USG-firmware) to finally ease VLAN segregation for IoT-devices.

But nothing - that‘s a bummer :-(

The mDNS-„service“ (aka mDNS-reflector) is no solution and moreover a security risk by reflecting to the WAN-port...

After upgrading Unifi controller from version 4.9.12 to .5.10.12 I get the following connection request error messages when the unifi service is started.  It seems to be working allright though.   My system is Ubuntu 16.04.  Do I need to worry ?

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

 @UBNT-MikeD - 5.10.12 issue...

I'm running a captive portal that has been working perfectly for the last 2 months with 5.9.29. I use the UniFi API to pass the required parameters to the UniFi Controller (running on Ubuntu 16.04) via the API to authenticate and register the guest devices on the guest WiFi.

Here's what a normal apache2 log looked like prior to the upgrade:

XXX.XXX.XXX.218 - - [08/Feb/2019:09:36:32 -0800] "GET /guest/s/f1u3q2kq/?ap=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx&id=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx&t=1549647392&url=http://connectivitycheck.gstatic.com%2fgenerate_204&ssid=Guest+Hotspot+Open HTTP/1.1" 200 6641 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 9; Pixel 3 Build/PQ2A.190205.001; wv) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Chrome/71.0.3578.99 Mobile Safari/537.36"

After the upgrade, the "id", "hotspot" and "t" parameters are missing and instead there is an "ec" parameter with a crypto key:

XXX.XXX.XXX.218 - - [09/Feb/2019:09:23:33 -0800] "GET /guest/s/f1u3q2kq/?ap=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx&ec=u2NVnnX1L9B9BvrKaoq3H7A8ERecZ3Xx8HwTQMBNVym-hYhLJL_jChuUo7iv0WCWp4R2M__0CoJyZUz2z3PC1REFOnftxfLrGW5_itOcgiMpboZRM6T1mL8vgPzepvB2hj9SVJyw7b0reUk1IduaWzsQEYh55hr6igNRnCMne8c HTTP/1.1" 400 1783 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 9; Pixel 3 Build/PQ1A.190105.004; wv) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Chrome/72.0.3626.96 Mobile Safari/537.36"

This has broken my external captive portal, since it checks for the ID and SSID and errors out if they're not present.

I checked the latest unifi_sh_api.sh to see if there are any changes, but couldn't find any and nor is there anything in the release notes about API changes.

I was forced to downgrade to get the captive portal is working again.

I've tried the install on Ubuntu 18.04 and Debian 9 and getting the same issues.  Can not get it to run.  Using Google Cloud servers.

Re: UniFi Network Controller 5.10.12 Stable has been released

Have you followed the guidelines in the announcement, including the imbedded links to Debian/Ubuntu ?  Also in the wireless forum I seem to recall there have been discussions that may be of interest to you on this subject.  On Ubuntu 18.04 the links show special considerations to be made regarding mongodb version and apt sources, etc.
