dhcp in controller?

In the controller setup under 'Networks - Edit Network - LAN'  I'm seeing a checkbox for DHCP server which is enabled by default.  I'm already running a DHCP server on my pfSense router.

Is there any reason I would want the controller's dhcp on?  Do I loose any functionality of the Unifi Controller by turning it off?

Re: dhcp in controller?

This feature is if you are using the USG.  Otherwise it has no effect.

Re: dhcp in controller?

Not a problem. It's a common misconception. There are feature requests to hide things that are irrelevant in the v4+ controller software.
