How come the Zip file link is not shared on the release notes anymore?

I run multiple CentOS VM's for UniFi controller and install via the zip file.

It comes down to not having the necessary QA to support DIY. Customers complained about things not working on DIY, so we're keeping it beta-only, "use at your own risk."

Ultimately not any different than it's ever been, but more clear that it's not an officially-supported method.

https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Feature-Requests/Provide-CentOS-RHEL-compatible-RPM-and-reposito...

Diy zip allows me to run clean on centos.

You not running a repo or rpm forces me to use zip. If you wont support it I feel like unifi can't support its users.

I've had to many emails with support at unifi which makes me go crazy.

Your customer service sucks. Management needs to evaluate all aspects of this company.

Then why don't you make something like a RPM for RHEL based systems?  I'd offer my help in creating the RPM and hosting the repo.

Also UBNT-MikeD was adding the new link for a while there and it has gone back to not being listed.

https://www.ubnt.com/downloads/unifi/5.3.8/UniFi.unix.zip is the direct link for 5.3.8

Because they don't support RHEL derviative distros? You obviously don't like that, but that is their decision and their choice - and has always been that way. If you want full support, use a supported OS...

I think your tone and word choice is very unnecessary.

Keep in mind people are passionate about CentOS -

I personally want to see it avail in the main download section - that would be nice. Maybe you have to look in the beta section for current unix / CENTOS)

I don't think anyone is trying to discourage anyone from using CentOS -but you do have to do a lot of searching, and that is never fun...

As for support, it is all community based is it not?

A lot of enterprise people may shy away from it with only forum based support, but so what - it depends on what you want out of it.....

Anyways - here is hoping to see it more in the mainstream soon!

March 2017 (ish):

https://dl.ubnt.com/unifi/5.2.9/UniFi.unix.zip

You CAN get it here till the link breaks - pretty easy to install .....

But there are options -we like that - right?
