When I got to the client they had consumer grade equipment and had a lot of their users struggle to connect to the network. Goal was to clean up the sevrer room and install new hardware that would help with managing their clients and ensuring uptime!

Really happy with how everything turned out.

Still trying to figure out the optimal patch cord length to use when installing a 24 port switch. Having all the ports to one side makes it difficult to have one length cable .

Looks great and I’m sure the customer will see the difference!

Take a peak at some patch cables from MonoPrice - they have some thin/short Cat6 cables that work well with a setup like yours.

Cheers,

In Canada, I get my patch cables from primecables.

They have .5ft and 1ft - note that the length they advertised include the jacks.

Best way is to not try to match the numbering scheme from the patch panel and the switch.

I connect all my switch top row (12) to patch panel with the .5ft

All my switch bottom row ( 12)  to patch pane with the 1ft ( wish there was a 18inch) - bit of a snug fit, but so far that's the layout I like the best; and it does not obstruct the LEDs that much
