How to Unifi in an Apartment
Reason for Installation
It’s hard living in an apartment in Wi-Fi hell and getting good coverage. I setup my Unifi AC Lite centrally in our apartment and cable managed along the edges and corners (mostly). Also have to UVC-G3’s.

Description

This is how you UniFi an apartment. I surveyed our unit, based on signal and the overwhelming amount of neighboring wi-fi and decided the location was perfect at the end of the hall. I would have wall mounted but since there was already a line going to the pictured camera, I chose to ceiling mount in the hall. With just a little Unifi AC Lite, I manage to get weak but usable signal all the way through the building, across the road at the bench in the playground. (See map image, circled bench location) The black outline on the building is our apartment. The linear distance to that bench is easily 350ft. Normally that’s no sweat, but after going through a MDU with all of the interference potential and brick, steel, not bad. We also have 2 UVC G3 Domes (one pictured, one outside facing front door. Got very creative with wiring since no holes can be drilled. Made it work.

Good job. Would have looked a bit nicer with white cable clips instead of black Man Happy   Or maybe some trunking?

Currently using ISP basic router until we have the spare money for a USG. Did have pfSense box running but was coming into too many conflicts to have time to mess with. We have 2 in home-based school programs that had remote software issues.

I couldn’t find my white cable clips and was ready to finish the job so I got over that. Thanks for the input though!
