Description

A little bit of overkill, but Unifi is life! (I am your biggest fan, straight from Cape Town!)

(Small question: How do I add a bandwidth usage limit to a user group (not throttle, bandwidth limit ie do not use more than 500MB per day.) The scenario: I want to create a guest network on the AP and give each guest limited bandwidth per day (exactly like a hotspot normally would). Why? Because we have capped internet in South Africa.

Your 10 port switch will get toasty there.

I'd move it below your patch oanel.

You get that option in in the guest portal when you create vouchers

I do not know my users so cannot give them vouchers.

Your safest thing to do would be throttle the whole pipe to where you couldn't go over your allowance.

I looked at afrihost's aup, if you're paying for 40Mb/s you get 250GB/mo. That would be a little over 5 MegaBytes a minute. Or if my math is right, 771Kb/s for a whole month.

Ouch. Good luck - maybe read up on some threads like this?

Re-reading your message, it sounds like a group of users (not just a user) can't exceed 500MB, so if one person gets there early and eats up the 500MB, the other people would just be out of luck.

No no, I want to give each mac address 500MB every 24 hours.

Very cool build hardware. I am currently studying your network equipment, in particular, I am interested in wireless equipment. I need to connect a large room, where there will be more than 100 gaming laptops for casino in new zealand, so that players have the opportunity to play games through a single Internet network. I considered UniFi AC Pro as a cheaper option and UniFi AP AC SHD as more expensive. But I do not understand what the difference is and what equipment is better suited for my task?

Are you considering expanding this network?

You may not be able to give out vouchers personally but can you post what the voucher code is on the webpage they have to enter it on (or make it a hidden field in the form?).

Then can you limit that voucher code for that device to the set cap per time limit?
