Please bring back anonymous snapshots to 3.2

Status: Implemented

I sorely miss the option of anonymous snapshots that were available on standalone airCams with 1.2 firmware.

Alternately and/or simultaneously, how about a read-only account like what is available for RTSP?

Additionally a simple very simple webpage displaying the cameras selected for anonymous snapshots. https://NVR-IP:7443/snapshots

This request is for snapshots directly from the cams, not from the NVR.  Snapshots from the NVR are already available with apikey.

@LLigetfa could I know your exact use case? And because of the nature of HTTP, it's prone of  privacy/secure concern, it's easily accessible.

@UBNT-Kent, the only means currently to get a snapshot from a standalone cam is to pass the creds through the URL as follows (assuming default creds):

http://ubnt:ubnt@IP.addy.of.cam/snap.jpeg

If I want to give someone access to it, then obviously I have to give away my secret admin password.  If we could have a read-only account similar to how we can with RTSP, then it is only a small secret, not a big one.  If we had the option of anonymous, then the URL could be made simple enough to give to someone verbally and they could easily bookmark it.

Even if I were to verbally convey the URL with creds, when the creds are passed via the URL, they get scrubbed from the address bar so for the less savvy user, creating a bookmark becomes a challenge.

It can also be done by a script that grabs each camera and stores on a webpage. I do this via ssh directly from each camera every 5 minutes and archive stills for every, not over written like videos are. Example sites: http://3igor.cheavens.com/ and http://www.cheavens.com/purg/ In some cases after grabbing the image I mask a location where I (or others) don't want the view to be seen from the internet.

Current tentative plan to have this feature available on v3.4.0

And the URL will be http://192.168.1.20/snap.jpeg as it been used on standalone webui, the same one.

Stay tuned Ubnt Banana

Works great, after logging in to the camera webui and click " Enable Anonymous Snapshot".
Thanks!

Can someone supply a case for anonymous snapshots?
