I got this to work, finally.
Start, create, manage UniFi Video server (mine is setup under Windows).
Setup RTSP for the Video server, setup user defined port 7447 in the synology.

And yes, if you are using rtsp authentication, you have to have a username and password.
With RTSP retranslation through the NVR, there is no authentication possible.

I love the products from Ubiquiti, but I find it so embarrassing that I do not use the Ubiquiti UVC-G3 with my Synology surveillance station!
I need 30 cameras that I want to buy from Ubiquiti!
I bought one as a test and found out that it does not work, I really shocked!
So I have to buy my cameras from another company !! ??
I do not really want that !!
Since I have almost everything from Ubiquiti and I continue to expand my network with Ubiquiti!
Is not that so hard to connect the Ubiquiti that not shank !?
Am de-iced by Ubiquiti!

@YandY you can use our cameras with Surveillance Station, many people on this thread are using them and I've personally tested it with my Synology NAS. The answers are probably buried in this thread a bit but I'll see if I can find some of the more useful ones and mark them as solutions so they go to the top of page 1.

I personally use 10 UVC-G3s and 1 dome through my surveillance station and they have worked fine for a year and a half.
The process for getting them to work is well documented in these forums. Take the time to do a little research and you'll be very happy with them once they're setup.

There is a lot of talk about it but no one has a good verbudic instructions, how it is done properly!

Synology could fix their stuff to make this easy. Click camera put in password and it just works... no workarounds needed,
i am planning on ditching synology for camera recordings. Going to get the ubiquity recorder and see if i can use the nas as a disk archive.... the video station product is too clunky and not getting any love in my opinion.
they NEED to stay on top of camera setup and keep it easy to setup. When its not they need to fix the issue and make it easy. They are NOT doing that. Thus I am moving away from their product.

There are plenty of posts on here with step by step on how to install the cameras. I know I've posted at least once on exactly what I did to get it to work.
Yes, Synology could just fix it, but obviously they aren't.
I've used Unifi Video as a docker on Synology and it's not as good of an experience compared to surveillance station. But you can do it. I ended up switching and figuring out how to set everything up in surveillance station.

I originally set everything up as a docker on Synology. After about a month, I ditched that and switched to surveillance station. That was about a year and a half ago. No issues since.
I had a lot of remote connectivity issues with the Unifi Video and got annoyed that I couldn't update firmware.
The only issue in surveillance station is there is no audio in live feed. Have to watch a recording for audio.
